Grilladelic is a state of mind. It is about making the world a better place by barbecuing one tender brisket at a time. It is about trusting your internal temperature gauge and not over cooking chicken on the grill. Grilladelic is about the craftsmanship of homemade sausage, pulled pork and tender ribs without parboiling. Hardwood charcoal, pecan chunks, kosher salt, fresh garlic, and cold beer. Grilladelic is the family reunion, fourth of July, Thanksgiving and a Super Bowl party. Tangy chicken wings, fajitas, tri-tips, skirt steaks, lamb chops and grilled aspargus. Grilladelic is also about great music crafted by musicians who love life. Grilladelic is a good cigar, old jokes and new friends.
Being ” grilladelic” is understanding that the best things in life are done with passion.
This blog is written in the spirit of Rogue River Willie. Willie was the spiritual guide of The Outdoor Cook. When it comes grills, smoking woods, meats, seasonings, and hardwood charcoal, Willie has been there and done it. You will read more about these adventures on this blog so please stay tuned.
The major contributor to this blog is John Rumery. The grill and barbecue crazed enthusiast who founded The Outdoor Cook, a specialty store devoted to all things cooked with fire and smoke. Although the business was sold in 2006 to Herman’s Boy (Rockford, MI) the grill spirit lives on. Rumery and his kids (Team Grilladelic) compete in 1-2 KCBS BBQ competitions each year.

Seen Fred Eaglesmith a couple of years ago at the Ann Arbor Folk Festival, Excellent music.
If you ever have the chance you’d probably like the group Moxie Fruvious. The do a song called Happy Birthday Trisha I joined the Michigan Milita, it will have you laughing your behind off. (it has been played on WYCE before)
Have you ever heard Jimmie Dale Gilmore? Highly recommend if you haven’t. As a matter of fact if you haven’t let me know and I’ll make a copy and send you one of his Albums.
Also, seeing how last tuesday was the anniversary of the death of Buddy Holly and the rest, If you’d like it, I have a recording of one of the original news bulletins announcing the crash and their deaths.
I didn’t mean to be this long but I am a bigger fan of music then any thing else in this world (except the family of course)because there is a musical style that goes with everything that happens in life inculding BBQ.
Be safe
